Special Bricks

A variety of special bricks were used for decorative features. These included rubbed voussiors, cant bricks, and cornered bricks.

Rubbed bricks were first cut with a saw, and then rubbed against another brick or stone. Bricks could also be moulded or carved with a wire-saw, files, and strips of copper.
