Copper nails

Hi, I've had a quote from a roofer who suggests using galvanisde nails rather than copper ones. Which is the better ones for securing tiles to the battens?

I have dug out an old school book from 20+ years ago! It states that traditionally galvenized nails are used for roofing felt as they have larger head which acts as a seal around the hole you have made in the felt. They tend to be shorter & squater
Copper nails or Clouts are used to hold on slates tiles as they have to last longer but dont need the larger head. They tend to be longer & thinner.
Hope that helps.
