Postby stephen0101uk » Sat Nov 11, 2006 11:30 am

Hi,
Am am about to knock through a wall in a 1900 property. However the bottom wall which is to be knocked though is 4" but above this for 52 courses it is 9". can anyone advise as to the best way of supporting the RSJ. ie.. should i did down to the foundations and put in 2ft of concrete and rebuild a pier of 9" to carry the load? Any help appreciated.
Thanks
