Original roller blind fittings - How to reuse them?

We still have what we think are the original fittings for blinds; they have a bracket each side of the window (presumably for a wooden dowl or metal pole) and on one side a small eyelet for a single cord to go down. On some windows we have a cleat to secure a cord.

I've been trying to find out how the blind was constructed to fit into these fittings.

Any ideas?
