The even-numbered houses have four chimneys, one of which is shared with the adjacent house. The shared chimney has four pots for each house, serving the two main reception rooms and two main bedrooms. A chimney at the front corner of the house serves the front small bedroom, a third serves the rear bedroom, and a central chimney originally served the range and a fifth bedroom, probably used by a maid or housekeeper.
Original chimneys were of a standard design. The main chimney used only red bricks, and others were built using a mix of red and yellow bricks:
