'Stained glass' is usually used to refer to 'leaded glass', but strictly refers only to glass which has been painted.
By the 1870s, mechanisation and mass production techniques had
made stained glass cheaper
to produce. In Art Nouveau patterns,
the leading played a key role in the design.
